Title: Director of Admission

If you live in Madison or the surrounding communities, or if you’re from the very southwestern corner of Minnesota (I’m from Minnesota too!), you are in my “territory”. In other words, I’ll be at your area college fairs and I’ll visit your high school hoping to get the chance to talk to you about Dakota State University.

Hi, I’m Amy. I’ve been in your shoes…trying to figure out where I was going to go to college. For some it’s an easy decision and for others it can be quite another story. At the time (many years ago of course!) I thought I had it all figured out but I ended up changing my mind at the last minute to enroll at DSU. It was a great fit for me and I had a great time here…maybe even learned a thing or two! I started working here within a few months of graduation and now, as the Director of Admission, I’m here to help you in anyway I can.

A few things about myself:

Favorite foods – Roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy (otherwise, what’s the point of mashed potatoes) and pizza – any kind but Canadian bacon and pineapple

High School activities – Volleyball, basketball and track, band, chorus, school play, National Honor Society, student council, class officer and FFA. In college I kept on with the sports but you can be in any number of activities at DSU. Get involved! You meet great people, have fun and it looks good on a resume.

Family – I’m not married (yet!) but have great parents (Dennis and Sue) and a younger brother, Jeff, and sister, Emily. My brother is married and he and his wife Leslie have both a son and daughter…my niece and nephew! Taylor is four and Jacob is almost two. So fun!

Something I would like to try – Skydiving

Far away places I’d like to go – Spain, Greece

Other useless trivia – I love big dogs. Shoe shopping is a hobby of mine. When I was a kid, I drew bellybuttons on the people I would draw. That’s right…bellybuttons.

I don’t think I can top that, so I think that’s plenty about me. What should I know about you? Zip me an e-mail or give me a call. Stop by when I’m at your high school or swing by campus for a visit. There have been some exciting things going on here recently and Dakota State needs students like you to keep our good thing going!

If you have any questions about DSU, please give me a call at 1-888-DSU-9988 or e-mail me at amy.crissinger@dsu.edu.
