Title: Assistant Director of Admissions
Hey, my name is Tyler Ruhd. I grew up on a farm in between Brandt & Clear Lake, South Dakota. I have two younger brothers, as well as a dog and a cat at home with mom and dad. In high school I was in choir, football, basketball, baseball, sound crew, and oral interp. I graduated from Deuel High School in 2003 and attended Dakota State University in the fall of that year.
While my senior year, I really didn’t know what/where I wanted to go. I knew I wanted to attend a four year school that was somewhat close to home, but not to close J I visited DSU and knew it was the right spot for me. Being from a small town and small class sizes, what DSU had to offer was just what I was looking for.
During college I was involved in many organizations including Student Activities Board, New Student Orientation, Delta Mu Delta, Student Ambassadors, choir, & intramurals. I graduated Dakota State University in 2007 with a degree in Business Management. DSU is the place where I found my future wife, we married in 2010 and have a beautiful baby boy.
Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, relaxing on the lake, grilling, softball, and just hanging out.
