Career Services for Faculty and Staff

The common goal of DSU faculty and staff is to help students develop lifelong skills and abilities that will enable them to succeed. In Career Services we assist with career exploration, career development, job search, and job transitions for freshman through alumni. We are a centralized service provider assisting students in all academic programs.

We enjoy partnering with faculty and staff by collaborating on projects, introducing you to employers who hire our interns and graduates, and by offering outreach/classroom presentations in these areas:

  • FOCUS (skills, interests and aptitude inventory)
  • Myers Briggs Indicator
  • Writing an effective resume and/or cover letter
  • Dynamic interviewing skills
  • Job search strategies
  • Internship assistance
  • Career Services overview

With advance notice, we tailor presentations to supplement classroom topics or identify appropriate employers to be guest speakers.

In addition to the areas listed above, Career Services also offers assistance with:

  • Career Fairs (four annually)
  • Student employment (off- and on-campus)
  • Work Study
  • Practice interviews for students
  • On-campus interviews
  • Business and dining etiquette
  • Employer relations
  • Networking
  • Extensive employment listings (part-time, internship, and full-time)
