The Office of Career Services offers many on-campus recruiting events in which you can participate. We facilitate opportunities for students to meet with employers for the purpose of recruiting our students for full-time and internship positions. down arrowOn-Campus Interviews

  • Looking for an internship or full-time job? Each semester our office schedules on-campus interviews with recruiters in order to fill their vacancies or newly created positions. This is an excellent interview opportunity for you because recruiters are the ones who travel to DSU to interview you. If you meet the criteria the employer provides, (major, GPA, etc.) you can schedule a time to interview. The dates for these interviews are listed on posters throughout campus as well as posted to the DSU Events calendar and the calendar on the Job Link site. All we need from you is a copy of your resume at the time you sign up to interview. Don’t wait to schedule your interview - the schedules fill fast!

  • Are you looking for a part-time or student labor job? Career Services lists all part-time and student labor opportunities on their website daily. Check out our Local/Surrounding area link to view all of the jobs that are available. If you don’t see a fit today, check back tomorrow for new listings!

down arrowStudent Employment Reporting Form

  • This form is used for students who meet the following criteria to report their employment while attending DSU
    • Student must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Student must have a current course load of at least six credits through DSU
  • Note: This form is used to report average student wages and a running, University-wide earning total ONLY. Excluding work study information. Once your information has been added to the spreadsheet, your name will be removed from the data, keeping your earnings confidential. Contact information is for the Career Services Office to contact you with questions only. If you have any questions regarding confidentiality of information, do not hesitate to contact Career Services.

  • There are various information sessions scheduled on campus during both the fall and spring semesters. Besides free food, you will get first hand information from the recruiters about their company's open positions, benefits, locations, etc. Generally, these sessions are scheduled at 5:00 PM in the Mundt Foundation; but other times and locations are scheduled. Please RSVP to our office by the deadline so there is plenty of food available.

  • The DSU Career Fair, housed at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse, is typically held in October. On average, over 40 companies attend this event each year. If you are seeking a full-time position or an internship – don’t miss this opportunity!

  • The SD BIG Job Fair (Business, Industry & Government) is held during the spring semester (usually in February) in Sioux Falls, SD. This event is co-sponsored by DSU and the SD Association of College Career Centers. If you pre-register in our office, the fee will be only $5.00. The fee goes up to $10.00 at the door. This event normally attracts 150+ businesses and is known as the "Midwest's Premier Job Fair". You won't want to miss it! For more information go to www.getgrads.com.

  • The SD Teacher Job Fair is held during the month of April in Sioux Falls, SD. This fair is for soon to be graduates that are seeking a career in education. DSU co-sponsors this event with the SD Association of College Career Centers. If you pre-register in our office, the fee will be only $5.00. The fee goes up to $10.00 at the door.   • The DSU Summer Job Fair gives you the chance to visit with local employers who are looking to hire their summer employees. Thinking about sticking around for the summer? Well, look no further than your own campus to land that summer job!

  • Occasionally recruiters from area businesses visit campus. Their information tables are located in the Trojan Center’s Spectrum lounge during the lunch hours. This is a great informal time for students to stop by and ask questions of the recruiters. It is also a good opportunity for employers to inform students of what they have to offer. Be sure to stop by these tables!

  • How do I start a resume? What do I include on my resume? Are there different types or resumes? If you feel you don’t know the answer to one or more of these questions, then Career Services is here to help you. We offer resume workshops each semester to help you get a start on your first draft and set you up with the tools to create a successful and convincing resume.
