Freshman Academic Scholarships

DSU Presidential Champion Scholarship

Available to incoming freshmen with 28-36 ACT or SAT of 1240* or greater, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.

$2,150 - 4 year renewable award - up to a $8,600 scholarship, must maintain a 3.0 GPA and full time continuous enrollment with a minimum of 12 DSU credits per semester. Eligible students will be awarded upon admission.

DSU Merit Champion Scholarship

Available to incoming freshmen with 24-27 ACT or SAT of 1090-1230*, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.

$1,650 - 4 year renewable award - up to a $6,600 scholarship, must maintain a 3.0 GPA and full time continuous enrollment with a minimum of 12 DSU credits per semester. Eligible students will be awarded upon admission.

DSU Achievement Champion Scholarship

Available to incoming freshmen with 21-23 ACT or SAT of 970-1080*, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA.

$500 - 4 year renewable award - up to a $2,000 scholarship, must maintain a 3.0 GPA and full time continuous enrollment with a minimum of 12 DSU credits per semester. Eligible students will be awarded upon admission.

* DSU calculates the sum of Critical Reading and Mathematics scores when compiling the SAT equivalencies.

Rose Hoffman Gammill Zuger Endowed Scholarship

Open to incoming students graduating from a South Dakota high school and majoring in Education. Renewable for 4 years by maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Center of Excellence Annual Scholarship

Open to incoming CEX students who have a 3.5 or higher high school GPA. May be renewable, awarded by the Director of the Center of Excellence.

Hatterscheidt Foundation Scholarship

Open to new students with financial need determined by the DSU Financial Aid Director. Need to be in upper 30% of high school class and a SD resident. Separate application required.
