Future Commencement Dates
- 2009 Fall Commencement
10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 - 2010 Spring Commencement
10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010
Location
Commencement ceremonies are held at the DSU Fieldhouse (campus map) located at 1302 N. Washington Avenue. A Graduates’ Reception is held immediately following the ceremony at Dakota Prairie Playhouse, located directly across the street.
Application for Graduation
Each candidate for graduation, including students completing coursework off-campus, must formally notify the institution of their intent to graduate by the deadline specified in the academic calendar. Failure to meet the required deadline results in the degree confirmation at a later graduation date.
- Undergraduate students
Verification of degree requirements is completed by the Registrar. Graduation application forms are available in the Office of Enrollment Services as well as online on the Registrars page. Undergraduate students expecting to complete their degree requirements during the summer term will be invited to participate in the spring commencement preceding completion of their degree. - Graduate students
Verification of degree requirements is completed by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research. Graduation application forms are available in the Office of Graduate Studies and Research or online at the Graduate Office page. Graduate students completing degree requirements during the summer term will be invited to participate in the fall commencement following completion of their degree.
