Tickets: Because of the large size of the spring graduating class and available seating in the Fieldhouse, each graduate will receive seven (7) tickets that can be used for their guests in the general bleacher seating. Tickets will be mailed in mid-April to all graduates at the address you provide in the Commencement Form (see above). If you will not need all seven tickets, you may give them to another graduate who needs additional seating. Bleacher seating tickets may be exchanged for floor seating tickets for family or friends who are unable to sit on the bleachers. To notify us of special accommodations (wheelchairs, hearing impairment, etc.) that we need to accommodate in our planning, please contact the President’s Office at 256-5112 or email email@example.com as soon as possible. (Keep in mind that the ceremony will be webcast live for family and friends who are unable to attend in person.)
Rehearsal: A Commencement rehearsal will be held on Friday, May 9 at 4:15 p.m. You are encouraged to attend this practice session so you will be familiar with the locker room location, the line of march, and the procedures for the ceremony. We will quickly walk through the hooding procedure during the rehearsal for the benefit of our master’s and doctoral graduates.
Reception: The Graduates' Reception will be held in the Dakota Prairie Playhouse convention center immediately following the Commencement ceremony. This reception is intended to provide an opportunity for you to relax and visit with family, classmates, and DSU faculty/staff while enjoying cake and punch.
Please be watching for more detailed information and reminders via email as the date approaches!
