MSIS Project
Introduction
The Master's project serves as a final research activity conducted by students under the direction of the faculty. The MSIS project is a scholarly, integrative experience. You must design, plan, and implement a real-world information systems project synthesizing the skills and knowledge learned throughout the program.
Your project will require you to register for the Information Integration Project Course, INFS 788, in at least two semesters: INFS 788 Planning (1 cr. hr.) and INFS 788 Implementation (2 cr. hr.). If you need additional time, you may register for INFS 788 Continuation (1 cr. hr.).
You need to do two things before starting your project:
- Print and read the project guidelines
- Print and read the sequence of activities
The MSIS project is a scholarly, integrative experience. It serves as a:
- Capstone activity; to pull together the skills acquired through course work
- Meaningful piece of work; to demonstrate the students’ skills for placement and recruitment purposes
- Means to introduce the students to formal research methods such as design science research (depending on the interest of the student and the supervising faculty)
MSIS projects are conducted by the students under faculty supervision. It is a two semester process with specific deliverables and timelines.
