Maroney DSU Trojan Days Parade Marshal

Pat Maroney will serve as Grand Marshal for the Dakota State University Trojan Days Parade.

The parade will be held Saturday, September 27 starting at 10am in Madison, SD. 

Maroney is a native of Howard; son of Clarice and the late Roger Maroney. He graduated from St Agatha High School and attended college at Creighton University and the University of South Dakota before obtaining his degree at Dakota State (then General Beadle) in 1968.

He bought Maroney's Bar in Howard in 1968 and has remained the owner/operator since.

In 2007, Maroney was elected to the Dakota State Foundation Board of Trustees. He is currently a Miner County Commissioner and will take over as chairman of the First District Association of Local Governments this month. He is Chair of the Rural Learning Center, Chair of the Howard Public Library Board, and Chair of the Miner County Community Revitalization Board. He serves as Vice Chair of Howard Industries, on the Interlakes Community Action Board and Executive Director of the Licensed Beverage Dealers of South Dakota.

In 2004 he was recognized as Retailer of the Year by the Licensed Beverage Dealers of South Dakota and has been named the Howard Knight of Columbus Knight of the Year. He has also been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the establishment of the Rural Learning Center.

Maroney lives in Howard.
