DSU Phi Beta Lambda Earns Firsts at State Conference

A team of Dakota State University Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) members dominated the annual state conference in Mitchell, April 4 and 5. All ten members of DSU's team placed first in at least one event, qualifying for the national conference which will be held in Atlanta, GA in June. The competition tests PBL members in a wide range of activities including academic, skill and performance events.

The DSU PBL team also received the award of Largest Chapter in Attendance at the conference.

The state officer team was led by SD PBL President Jenny Grabinger, who also serves as DSU PBL President. She was assisted by Suzanne Swett, who served as SD PBL Reporter and also serves as DSU PBL Vice President. Other members of DSU's team included Ted Jackson, Anne Jerke, Adam Learning, Cole Mullenbach, Amanda Olson, Jared Vander Wal, Jordan VanMannen and Chuck Woodraska. DSU faculty advisors for PBL are Dr. Dan Talley and Dr. Lynette Molstad.

  • Jenny Grabinger: 1st Business Law, 1st Marketing Analysis & Decision Making, 1st E-Business with Jordan VanMaanen, 1st Marketing Concepts with Anne Jerke and Amanda Olson.
  • Suzanne Swett: 1st Macroeconomics, 1st Microeconomic.
  • Ted Jackson: 1st Computer Concepts, 1st Network Concepts, 1st Network Design with Chuck Woodraska, 2nd Cyber Security.
  • Anne Jerke: 1st Future Business Executive, 1st Marketing Concepts with Jenny Grabinger and Amanda Olson.
  • Adam Learing: 1st Desktop Publishing with Jordan VanMaanen,1st Statistical Analysis, 2nd Macroeconomics.
  • Cole Mullenbach: 1st Cyber Security, 1st Word Processing, 3rd Accounting Principles, 3rd Computer Concepts.
  • Amanda Olson: 1st Marketing Concepts with Jenny Grabinger and Anne Jerke, 2nd Job Interview, 2nd Outstanding Local Historian.
  • Jared Vander Wal: 1st Computer Applications, 1st Information Management, 1st Management Analysis & Decision Making, 2nd Accounting Principles.
  • Jordan Van Maanen: 1st Sales Presentation, 1st Desktop Publishing with Adam Learning, 1st E-Business with Jenny Grabinger.
  • Chuck Woodraska: 1st Networking Design with Ted Jackson, 2nd Computer Concepts, 2nd Network Concepts, 2nd Cyber Security.
