DSU Student Earns Scholarship
Jessica Vlasman, an accounting major at Dakota State University, is one of four area students to receive the 2009 Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship to continue their post-secondary business education. The $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually by the Sioux Falls Development Foundation to students who are Sioux Falls residents or who have completed at least one year of post-secondary work at a South Dakota educational institution.
Vlasman is a member of the Delta Mu Delta and Kappa Sigma Iota honor societies, and has been consistently on the President’s List for academic achievement. She worked as a student loan customer service representative for Wells Fargo and as full-service teller at Farmers State Bank in Tea during her summer breaks from school. Vlasman is a senior at DSU, and is working on a Spanish language major along with her accounting studies. She plans to continue her education toward a masters degree, and a career as a certified public accountant.
