Faculty display work at fine arts exhibit

predatorDakota State University faculty, Angela Behrends, Linn Nelson, and Cassie Edwards, were accepted into the Brookings Arts Council's 35th annual Fine Arts Exhibit. The trio are with the DSU College of Arts and Science.

Behrends is a mixed media sculptor & installation artist. She entered two hanging landscape works made with felted hair on canvas. Nelson is a graphic artist and printmaker. The print she entered is a collagraph, monotype titled, "Predator". (pictured right). Edwards is an adjunct instructor of art history at DSU.

Thirty-eight works of art from artists throughout South Dakota are included in the exhibit. Inclusion in the exhibit is open to residents of South Dakota, 18 and older. All media, with the exception of photography, were eligible. Works will be on display through August, with the closing reception on Friday, August 26, from 5:30 – 7 PM. The Brookings Arts Council is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. There is no admission charge.
