Montgomery's work chosen for exhibit

Dakota State University faculty member Alan Montgomery's work "Deepwater Horizon" has been accepted to the Carriage House National Juried Exhibit. His work was selected from among 175 entries from over 20 states. The work is a three-panel mixed media painting, which is part of a series exploring the evolving impact of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Montgomery is an association professor of art in the DSU College of Arts and Science.

Montgomery's work will be displayed in an exhibit at the Oak Park Art League (OPAL) Gallery in Oak Park, Ill.  The work was juried by David M. Sokol, professor emeritus of the Department of Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sokol taught at UIC for almost forty years and was the Department Chairperson for seventeen years.

The exhibit runs October 7 through November 18, with an opening reception on October 14.  For more information, visit the OPAL website http://opal-art.com/
