DSU continues accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission
The Higher Learning Commission’s Institutional Action Council recently reaffirmed Dakota State University’s institutional accreditation through the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) process. The reaffirmation continues DSU’s accreditation until the next reaffirmation cycle in 2018-2019.
“Dakota State University was accepted into the HLC’s Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) in February 2005,” stated DSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cecelia Wittmayer. “Dakota State University’s participation in AQIP reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement principles and processes and to using those processes to improve teaching and learning. For DSU, applying for participation in the AQIP accreditation process was a natural outgrowth of our strong commitment to institutional improvement.”
The HLC is an independent corporation and one of two commission members of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), which is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The Higher Learning Commission accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.
