Behrends completes art installation at Washington Pavilion

Dakota State University instructor, Angela Behrends, recently completed her installation, “Front” at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.  “Front” is an elemental journey centered around wood, water, metal, fire and the human body that is open to the public from June 1st until August 19th.

“I think it’s a pretty cool experience to walk through the gallery,” says Behrends. “People are saying that it feels peaceful, which makes me very happy.”

Behrends’ artwork focuses on materials and subjects that are from the natural world, which includes both the human body and the environment. Her art communicates that our physical bodies are actually part of the natural world, rather than separate.
