Variety Offered at Annual DSU Fundraising Gala

The Dakota State University Foundation offers attendees and bidders a variety of items at the annual Gala. The Gala is this Friday, July 13, at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Tickets are still available from the DSU Foundation for $75. The Gala is an annual DSU Foundation fundraiser, raising a record $45,000 in 2011. The event is sponsored by State Senator Russell and Jennie Olson, and by Aramark.

The evening begins at 6:00pm with social hour, followed by dinner, the live auction, and music for dancing by the Andy Gibson Band. Items are also available on silent auction throughout the event.

A full list of the items on the live and silent auction is available to view by clicking here.  The list includes weeklong stays at condominiums in Palm Springs, Calif., or Longboat Key, Fla. Both trips include $2,000 in pre-paid debit cards to use toward travel expenses. A guided pheasant hunt, a trip up Crazy Horse Memorial, golfing at Sutton Bay, and a John Deere 12 Volt Gator are among other items on the live auction.

New to the live auction this year is a Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup package. The high bidder will receive two nights lodging for two at a Custer State Park facility, VIP parking and admission to a special viewing section at the roundup, plus breakfast at the corrals for the September 24 roundup.

Another addition to the live auction is a package of wines, selected and donated by members of the Dakota State University Foundation Board of Trustees. Trustees are choosing their favorite bottle or bottles of wine, which will be auctioned as a package during the live auction.

The silent auction offers a large array of items, for all ranges of bidders. Included are four tickets to a Minnesota Vikings game, season tickets to the Sioux Empire Community Theatre, computers,  a bed and breakfast lodge getaway in Montana, jewelry, artwork, a Deadwood mini-vacation, and much more.

All live and silent auction items are donated by friends of the university. Proceeds from the event are directed to scholarships at DSU.
