DSU Raking For Leaves Community Service Eventrakingleaves

Dakota State University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) hosted their annual Raking for Leaves event on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Madison. 

The annual event is a DSU service project for community members in need of assistance to complete the fall clean-up of their lawns within the city of Madison.

Over 50 students from student clubs across the campus participated in the Raking for Leaves event.  DSU clubs on campus included PBL, Student Ambassadors, Student Senate, DSU Volleyball team, Softball team, International Club, Intervarsity, Newman Club, Zimmerman Hall Council and Student Activities Board, along with a few individual volunteers came to help out with the event.

A total of 18 lawns were raked in the community in a single day with the assistance of volunteers and donations of rakes and lawn bags.

“Overall, we had a great turnout and everyone had a positive attitude, said Andrew Van Demark, a senior marketing and business management major from Sioux Falls, S.D., and PBL Reporter and Historian.
