“A Taste of Hunger” presentation addresses poverty
Madison, SD., January 12, 2012
Is hunger a problem in Madison? Is poverty?
The DSU Division of Student Affairs, Office of Diversity Services, and College of Arts and Sciences invite students and the public to explore these and other questions, through an interactive dinner experience on Tuesday, January 17 at 6 PM. This is a free program and we encourage you to bring a canned donation for the food pantry.
Dinner will be provided free to attendees, with meals based on randomly assigned economic positions: upper, middle and lower class. Along with the meal, Jeff Nelson, Lake County Food Pantry board President, and Kim Wermers, one of the developers of the Madison Kid’s Pantry, will help us understand the confusing narrative of hunger in the modern world.
There will also be musical performance by special guests and DSU’s own Sandy Champion will MC the event. Children are welcome!
