Dakota State named a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations by the NSA (05/23/12) The National Security Agency (NSA) recently named Dakota State University a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO). After a rigorous application and screening process, the NSA selected this month the first four schools to receive the CAE-CO designation for the 2012-2013 academic year: Dakota State University; the Naval Postgraduate School, Calif.; Northeastern University, Mass.; and University of Tulsa, Okla.
Borofsky Chosen as Dakota State University President (10/22/12) David B. Borofsky, interim president at Dakota State University since February, has been chosen by the South Dakota Board of Regents to become the 22nd president of the university. The board took action on the permanent appointment at a special meeting today on the Madison campus.

Dr. Melody Schopp DSU commencement speaker (11/30/12) Dakota State University fall commencement is Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the DSU Fieldhouse. Dakota State will award 36 masters, 69 baccalaureate and 14 associate degrees.

DSU Professor selected for National Juried Show (11/28/12) Thomas Jones, Associate Professor of Art at Dakota State University, has been selected into a National Juried Show. Jone’s black and white photograph entitled “Taxi” is only one of 23 photographs selected for the main gallery “In Transit” exhibit, December 5 - 29, 2012, at the Kiernan Gallery, in Lexington, Virginia. The photo submissions were juried by Jock Montgomery, an in-demand commercial and editorial assignment photographer based out of Bangkok, Thailand.
DSU to honor the 150th anniversary of the Dakota 38 (12/12/12) Dakota State University President, Dr. David Borofsky, invites the public to attend a community dinner honoring the 150th anniversary of the Dakota 38, on Friday, Dec. 14th, at 6:30 p.m. on the DSU campus in the Trojan Center Underground. A short program is scheduled, and Gene Hexom, the Madison mayor, will be in attendance.
DSU doctoral student and professor present at ICIS (12/10/12) Ken Pinaire, a Dakota State University doctor of science in information systems student with a concentration in healthcare informatics, along with Surendra Sarnikar, DSU faculty advisor and associate professor of information systems, will present their research at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2012 on Dec. 16, in Orlando, Fla. The theme of ICIS 2012 is “Digital Innovation in the Service Economy.”
Cyber Corps program featured on "Eye on Keloland" (11/13/12) DSU's Cyber Corps program was recently featured on "Eye on Keloland" entitled, "Creating Cyber Warfare Warriors."
Two DSU students to receive South Dakota Space Grant Scholarship (11/30/12) Dakota State University students, Megan Fredberg and Jessica Simcox, were recently each awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the NASA South Dakota Space Grant Consortium Management Team for the 2012-2013 school year.
Merrill and Uher serve as legislative interns (12/07/12) Students from Dakota State University will be serving as technology interns at the South Dakota Legislature during the 2013 session. This is the ninth consecutive year DSU students have served in this capacity.
