DSU instructors featured in Young Dakota Artists exhibition
DSU instructors Nathan Edwards and Cassie Marie Edwards are proud to be featured in the Young Dakota Artists exhibition, which features 22 artists from both North and South Dakota, all under the age of 40.
The curators, Greg Blair and Matthew Wallace, said in a statement, "The idea for this exhibition developed over the last few years as a result of seeing artwork that held up to national standards by some of North and South Dakotas young artists. Young Dakota Artists is an attempt to bring some of these voices together in order to provide a snapshot of the vibrancy and diversity of the landscape occupied by some of these young creative people."
The works exhibited by Cassie Marie Edwards include two representational oil paintings from a recent series of still-life works.
Nathan Edwards is showing a short film presentation that explores the diverse landscape of the American west and midwest, and the implications of human-environment interaction. The video can be viewed online: http://vimeo.com/8055271
The exhibition was shown at the Isaac Lincoln Gallery at Northern State University until March 2nd, and will then move to the North Dakota Museum of Art to be exhibited from March 25 - May 31.
