Open auditions for “The Odyssey”
Auditions for the Dakota State University Theatre Company and Madison community members’ fall production of “The Odyssey” continue tonight, Tuesday, September 10th, at 7 p.m. at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison, S.D. This performance of “The Odyssey” is a fun adaptation of the story with a modern sense of humor and a minimalistic body/movement centered approach to the text.
DSU students, faculty, staff and Madison community members are welcome to attend the audition and have a chance to become a be a killer mermaid, a Cyclops, a temptress, a loyal dog, a goddess, a god, a sheep and yes, even a pig. During the audition, you will have the opportunity to read from the script and show off some of your moves, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you have gymnastic skills or cheerleading experience, please be sure to place this on your audition form.
If acting is not something you are interested in, but you are still interested in the technical/backstage work of the performance, please stop by the audition to speak with the director, Kelly Macleod.
Performance dates are scheduled for Oct. 31st, Nov. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Contact Kelly Macleod at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
