2013 DSU Royalty Crowned

The 2013 Dakota State University Homecoming King and Queen were crowned in a ceremony last night as part of the week-long homecoming festivities.DSU-Royalty-Crowned.jpg

The queen is Kayla Stoltenburg, a sophomore elementary education and special education major from Viborg, S.D. Stoltenburg is a Resident Assistant in Higbie Hall and is involved in the student activities board and CRU.

Jordan Stewart, a junior computer and network security major from Sioux Falls, S.D., was crowned king. Stewart is a member of the Student Senate.DSU-Royalty.jpg

Candidates for king included:

Lucas Dolan is a biology for information systems major from Milroy, M.N. He is involved in Colleges Against Cancer, St. Michael Newman Club, student activities board and active in intramurals.

Matt Groff is a junior physical education major from Prescott, A.Z. He is a member of the DSU football team and the PE and Coaching Club.

Mike Kapperman is a senior secondary math education major from Hartford, S.D. He is a tutor and is involved with Colleges Against Cancer, St. Michael Newman Club and the PE and Coaching Club.

Walker Ruhd is sophomore biology for information systems major from Clear Lake, S.D. He is a GO! Leader, a student ambassador, a member of the student activities board and active in intramurals.

Josh Rundell is sophomore network security administration major from Sioux Falls, S.D. He is a member of the student activities board, St. Michael Newman Club and is a Resident Assistant in Zimmermann Hall.

Candidates for queen included:

Jeni Habeger is a sophomore biology major from Madison, S.D. She is a Resident Assistant in Higbie Hall, a student ambassador and is the president of the Phi Beta Lambda Business Club.

Audrey Hupf is a junior elementary education and special education major from Castlewood, S.D. She is a member of the St. Michael Newman Club, Council for Exceptional Children, intramurals and is a Resident Assistant in Higbie Hall.

Sara Irvine is a junior exercise science major from Tea, S.D. She is vice president of the Student Senate and a Resident Assistant in Richardson Hall.

Annalesha Kalis is a junior elementary education and special education major from Waldorf, M.N. She is a GO! Leader, a student ambassador, a member of Colleges Against Cancer, student activities board, choir and the Lady T’s basketball team.

Katy Pillar is a junior business management major from Sioux Falls, S.D. She is involved with Delta Mu Delta, Enactus and is a member of the Lady T’s basketball team.

Stewart and Stoltenburg will reign over a week of activities that culminate on Saturday, September 28 with the DSU Trojan football game at 4:00 p.m. at Trojan Field.
