Model United Nation’s event on DSU campus Monday, March 18
Dakota State University College of Arts and Sciences will again host a Model United Nation’s event on Monday, March 18, from 9:00 - 2:30, in the Events Center at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Teams of two to five students from several speech and composition classes will participate in a simulation of a United Nations General Assembly session, representing a total of thirty-nine countries.
During the simulation, they will propose, debate, and vote on resolutions they have written on topics that are current in today’s world. To prepare for the event, students have selected and researched a member country to represent, created multimedia profiles of their countries, and researched international issues. Participating faculty include Kelly Macleod, Maureen Murphy, Deana Hueners, Stacey Berry and Shreelina Ghosh. Ethelle Bean will preside over the Assembly.
Jacy Fry will be providing the luncheon speech, presenting on International Programs at DSU, along with students who have been involved in DSU study abroad opportunities.
Participant registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with roll call of the General Assembly scheduled for 9:30. The event is open to the public.
