“A Play in a Day” this Saturday at Lake Herman State Park
Lake Herman State Park in cooperation with the Dakota State University Theatre Company will present “Fables!” a theatre workshop and performance of Native American tales featuring a buffalo, coyote, snake, magpie, and many more fun characters. The four 15 minute performances start at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, at the Lake Herman State Park Amphitheater.
DSU theatre director, Kelly MacLeod, and DSU instructor and Seasonal Naturalist at Lake Herman State Park, Angela Behrends, are looking for 15 actors and helpers, over the age of 10, to help run and create "A Play in a Day" for and with Lake Herman campers. The workshops start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, and will include script writing, costumes and make-up, set and prop making and rehearsal and rules of acting.
If you or your children are interested in participating, please contact Kelly Macleod at Kelly.firstname.lastname@example.org for further information about the schedule of events for the day.
In case of rain, the performance and workshops will be moved to Picnic Shelter #2 at Lake Herman State Park. This event is free with a state park admission.
