Thune speaks to crowd at Dakota State
Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) spoke to Madison community members today at the Tunheim Classroom Building on the campus of Dakota State University.
This is Thune’s first town hall meeting in a series of meetings that will be held across the state of South Dakota addressing the recently passed tax relief package, the upcoming debt ceiling negotiations, and the need to cut spending in Washington.
Thune spoke of how the tax relief package affects South Dakotans in particular and also described the current state of the growing federal debt in the U.S.
Thune also answered questions from audience members on spending cuts, the Farm Bill, the Lewis and Clark water project and healthcare reform. He also expressed his positive perspective and outlook on South Dakota’s state budget and the state as a whole.
