Jane Ryder is an artist whose chosen medium is paint,  and the current inspiration for her gouache paintings can be found in the lakes, rivers, prairies and forests of south central Iowa. The plants, animals and varying landscapes of the Iowa scenery are the subject matter of her current exhibit.

Ryder is exhibiting her artwork, “Iowa Dirt”, at the First Bank & Trust Gallery in Madison, S.D. Each painting gives the artist’s view of fictitious ecosystems combining plants and animals with the use of bold colors and repeating patterns.

The closing artist’s reception for Ryder's "Iowa Dirt" exhibition is Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Bank & Trust Gallery in the Mundt Library on the DSU campus, in Madison, S.D.
