Mardi Gras--Almost Home Costume Party and Postcard Art Sale March 6th

It's time for the 2nd Annual Almost Home Canine Rescue fundraiser event on Thursday, March 6, at Madison Area Arts Council building, The BrickHouse, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., in Madison. This year’s event has an added twist of Mardi Gras and animal costume fun.

At the event, original animal-themed 2-D postcard artwork created by Madison Middle School and Dakota State University students, faculty and staff will be available to purchase for $15 each. The proceeds go towards the care of the homeless animals in Almost Home Canine Rescue foster homes in Lake County.

This family friendly event invites everyone to dress up in your finest Mardi Gras or animal costume and join the party at The BrickHouse, located at 106 SE 2nd Street, Madison, SD. Prizes will be given for the best costumes, with judging starting at 7:00 p.m.

For a $5 cover charge, you will enjoy an evening of local art, Mardi Gras beads and costume fun for humans and animals alike; all while munching on Kitty Litter Cake and Puppy Chow. Best of all, well-behaved pets are welcome!

Almost Home Canine Rescue, a foster-home based rescue, founded in October 2003 in Madison, S.D., and is dedicated to rescuing animals from the Madison, SD animal control facility and advocating for puppy mill dogs. Almost Home also promotes spaying and neutering as a means of reducing the number of unwanted puppies and kittens.
