The following links will connect you with searchable databases that provide information on funders, current grant opportunities and other information on government, corporate, and private grantmakers. Community of Science (COS) Site opens in new window
The Community of Science (COS) is a comprehensive database providing information on private foundations, federal and state funding agencies and corporate foundation funding. All academic disciplines are covered as well as all types of funding purposes – research, travel, collaborations, curriculum development, conference , fellowships, post-doctoral position, equipment acquisition, and capital projects.

With COS you can customize funding searches that are delivered to your desktop as opportunities become available. There is no cost for you use COS, but you need to set up a userid and password to access the database. Instructions are on the COS homepage.

Grants.gov Site opens in new window
Grants.gov is the federal government’s searchable database of federal government funding agencies. It is also the portal for submitting proposals electronically, a requirement of most federal agencies.

South Dakota Foundations Site opens in new window
This link will connect you to a search screen for private and corporate foundations that give primarily to South Dakota. The database includes profiles for 378 grantmakers.

Foundation Directory OnLine
The Foundation Directory OnLine provides both a searchable database and detailed information on giving history and funding trends for 92,000 U.S. foundations and corporate donors. Access to the Foundation Directory OnLine is available only through the Sponsored Programs Office. To request a search, send a request for Foundation Directory search, and we will schedule a time for your search.

Federal Business Opportunities is a single point of access to finding opportunities to do business with the federal government. This is the place to find opportunities for government contracts for training, education or research.
