<title>DSU's Advising Program Exceeds Students' Needs</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;DSU&amp;rsquo;s academic advising program exceeds students&amp;rsquo; needs, according to the 2009 Survey of Academic Advising. During the spring 2009 semester, students were offered the opportunity to complete a comprehensive online survey evaluating their advising experiences at DSU. Students were asked to rate their satisfaction with their advisor&amp;rsquo;s assistance in areas such as scheduling and registration procedures, coping with academic difficulties, and meeting graduation requirements. Students were also asked to rate their impressions of their current academic advisor in areas such as helpfulness, listening skills, effectiveness, and knowledge of academic discipline. DSU&amp;rsquo;s ratings are compared to other students from four-year public universities around the country.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Dakota State Sets Fall Enrollment Record</title>

<description>&lt;p&gt;Dakota State University officials released record enrollment numbers for Fall 2009 today (Thursday.) The student head count at DSU rose from 2,780 students in 2008 to 2861, an increase of 2.91%. In addition to this increase in headcount numbers the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) enrollment increased from 2371 to 2598 an increase of 9.57 % and the undergraduate headcount grew from 1,556.6 to 1,631.5 for an increase of 4.81%.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
