Emry Hall

Emry Hall, located on the northeast corner of campus, is named for Dr. June Emry, a former professor at DSU. Built in 1968 the four floors may accommodate up to 154 female students. The staff consists of a resident director, four resident assistants and a hall council which consists of a president, vice president/treasurer, secretary, four floor representatives and a food service representative.

Emry hall has a spacious lobby area on the main floor. Student mailboxes, television, lounge couches, vending machines and the resident director's apartment are located in the main lobby. Laundry facilities, which are coin and university card operated, are located in the lower level of the hall. Each floor has a lounge with cable television, study area, and comfortable lounge couches. Nicely decorated kitchen areas are located on the second and third floors. Each kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove and sink. Emry Hall is air conditioned so it is quite comfortable during warm weather months. All common hallways are carpeted so the floors are quiet and warm.

Each room in the hall is network ready for computer usage and the entire hall is also wireless. Internet, cable television and local telephone services are all provided as part of payment of the per semester housing fee. Each room has two extra long twin size beds, a long desk unit with two desk chairs, and two spacious closets with built in chest of drawers.
