Zimmermann Hall

Zimmermann Hall, located in the northeast section of campus, is a three-story co-ed residence hall built in 1964. Student rooms are located on the second and third floors. Named for the Zimmermann family, a prominent Madison family, the hall will accommodate up to 62 men and up to 62 female students. The dorm staff is made up of a resident director and four resident assistants. The hall council consists of a president, vice president/treasurer, secretary, four floor representatives and a food service representative.

The northern half of the first floor of Zimmermann consists of the Resident Directors apartment and Myxers student lounge featuring Java City and a convenience store. The southern portion of the first floor is actually part of the student union and houses the universities food service preparation and serving area. Zimmermann residents do not need to go outside to access their student union. Laundry machines are located in the lower level of Zimmermann Hall. The machines are coin operated or students may pay for service with funds placed on their university card.

Second floor is the female floor and third floor is the male floor. There is a television lounge and kitchen area, complete with a stove, sink, and microwave on each floor. Each room has two extra-long twin size beds, a long desk unit with two chairs, and two spacious closets with built in chest of drawers. Every room is wired for network computer access and the entire hall is also wireless. Internet, cable television and local telephone service are provided as part of payment of the per semester housing fee.
