Dakota State University students walking around campus

Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

‘DEEP TALK’ featured at DSU

February 9, 2017

On Wednesday, February 15, the public is invited to a free presentation with Mike Headley, executive director of the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority and Sanford Lab, and Jaret Heise, science director. The talk is sponsored by DSU and the Sanford Underground Research Facility (Sanford Lab).

In “Deep Talks on the Road: Big Science at Sanford Lab,” Headley and Heise will discuss the impacts that experiments housed deep underground have on education and the economy in South Dakota.

There will be a 6:00 p.m. reception, followed by the 7:00 p.m. presentation, both at the Habeger Science Center on the Dakota State University campus. In the past, DSU’s General Beadle Honors students have gone on a spring semester trip to the Sanford Underground Research Facility as a part of their Honors science class, traveling down to the 4,280-foot level where the labs are conducting research on neutrinos and other world-class research.
