Dakota State University students walking around campus

Preparation + opportunity = success

That's the DSU equation. We're a four-year university with nationally recognized programs, cutting-edge facilities, and the brightest thinkers. But we're also a tight-knit, inclusive community. Small class sizes mean hands-on training and individualized attention. All this with an affordable, public school price that's among the best values in the region.

DSU plants tree to honor student

April 28, 2016

Dakota State University will hold its first Arbor Day commemoration on Friday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m., on the south lawn near the campus rose garden. The tree will be planted in memory of Julian Freitag, who passed away in 2014 resulting from injuries sustained in a car accident. Freitag was a graduate of Madison High School and was an exercise science major at Dakota State. Dr. Dale Droge, DSU professor of biology, and Ginny Freitag, art teacher at Madison Middle School, are donating the tree in honor of their son.

A Julian Freitag Endowed Scholarship was established by friends and family of Freitag through the Madison Educational Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded to Madison High School senior who will attend Dakota State University. For more information on the scholarship, please see www.madisoneducationalfoundation.org
